I’ve worked in the helping profession in various capacities for the last twenty years, assisting people to put their lives back together and tackle the issues that hold them back.
I empower individuals and couples to overcome personal obstacles and stressful life events by providing hope, support and therapeutic guidance using clinically tested and evidence-based interventions. I believe in helping people get better emotionally so that they can be healthier and more productive in their daily lives.
I have 20 years experience in the field of social work including hospitals, child welfare and counselling. I’m a licensed and registered Clinical Social Worker who is trained in and provides mental health counselling and psychotherapy.
I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Social Work from King’s University College; graduating with Honours and distinction. In 2005, I obtained a Master of Social Work with a specific focus of study in individual, couples, family and group counselling from Laurier University.
Since 2005 I completed two Master’s Level Supervised Marriage and Family Therapy Internship Programs in order to enhance my skills and provide a diversity of client issues and backgrounds. I continue to participate in extensive professional development to provide a broad range of expertise and variety to my clients. I’ve been trained in EMDR which is an incredible therapeutic approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health problems.
Research shows that unhealthy relationships and attempting to cope with negative experiences can contribute to both emotional and physical distress. I offer various therapies as well as short-term counselling, EAP, or psychotherapy to individuals, aged 18+ and couples who are struggling with managing emotional distress. I’m committed to working with clients in a confidential and professional manner.
I’m available for appt’s in London at 141 Wortley Rd. & for St. Thomas bookings at 28 Princess Ave.
